Would you consider yourself to be a busy person? When you're in your home kitchen, do you find yourself rushing about and trying to get everything done as quickly as possible? If so, your busy lifestyle is an important thing to take into account when remodeling your kitchen. Here are some ideas and features you may want to include in your kitchen remodeling design for ease and efficiency.

Two Sinks

If you live with others, you may not want to be fighting over the kitchen sink in the morning. You may need the faucet to fill the coffee pot, while your partner may need to wash their hands or rinse off some fruit. Having two sinks will keep the two of you from stumbling over each other. It's pretty common to put a small, second sink in the kitchen island. When you're not rushing around in the morning, you can reserve this small sink for just handwashing or just food prep, if preferred.

A Separate Beverage Fridge

Consider having a small beverage fridge installed with your lower cabinets. This will leave more space in your main fridge so your food items don't end up on top of one another. You'll have an easier time finding what you need when you're rushing around. Having more space in your normal fridge also means you can buy more groceries at once and save yourself a few trips to the grocery store.

Seating at the Island

If you will have an island in your new kitchen, make sure you make at least part of the island counter height. This way, you can put two or more seats at the island. This way, you won't have to leave the kitchen to eat a quick breakfast in the morning. And cleaning up your mess will be a lot quicker and easier; you just wipe down the counter.

Dishwasher Drawers

Instead of installing one dishwasher, include two separate dishwasher drawers in your kitchen. This way, you only have to fill one drawer before washing the dishes. If you're busy and eat out a lot, you may not make that many dirty dishes. With this setup, they won't sit as long or get smelly.

Life gets busy. If you're someone who rushes about and feels like you don't have enough time, then make sure you remodel the kitchen to accommodate this lifestyle. Talk to a kitchen remodeling designer for more ideas and information.
